Drawing & Oil Painting Classes - $100/2 hour one-on-one structure
Private lessons offer students the ability to learn in a non-classroom environment. It allows each student to focus on areas of concern, develop skills with individual instruction that is not possible in large classes. Please email me atkelleyart@gmail.com for more information.

Oil Painting - 10 Week Session at Creative Arts Group, Sierra Madre
June 23rd - August 25th - Monday Nights 7-9:30
This class is designed for students that have previous oil painting experience. Students will gain experience in developing strong compositional skills, understanding the play of (values) lights and darks, mixing the right color and simplifying subject matter. Emphasis will be placed on building solid fundamental skills and helping each student work toward developing his/her style. The instructor will paint class demos as well as offer specific exercises that are designed to advance a student's understanding of composition, color and brushwork. Students will also be introduced to different techniques to help them further their individual needs. The class will be a mix of working from instructor supplied photos or still life set up as well as students' own photos or reference material.

Fundamentals of Oil Painting - 10 Week Session at Creative Arts Group, Sierra Madre
June 26th - August 28th - Thursday Mornings 9-11:30
This class is designed to offer students the fundamentals of painting in oil. Working with a limited palette, students will learn the basics of composition, value, application and color. Beginners and intermediate painters will hone their skills and learn to build a solid foundation which will allow them to develop and/or enhance their style. Both still life and landscapes will be explored through photos and painting from life.

Private or Online Mentoring/Critiquing Class
Online Mentoring/Critiques
Introducing a new program designed to help students by providing online critiques or mentoring. There are 2 options to choose.
Online sessions can include individualized lesson plans, a critique of your painting(s), help pushing through a troublesome painting or getting through painters' block. It's your choice how to best use our time together.
We talk while using a state of the art website that allows synchronized viewing and editing of images; therefore, we can review, critique and/or discuss paintings (yours or mine). This website allows me to actually draw on your image & show (live time) how to improve your painting.
If you choose to use the Mentoring/Critique Program it can be broken up into 2 or 3 sessions. Use it as needed or on a weekly basis.
If you live in and around the Pasadena area, you can use this time for an in person critique. We can split your time into one or two sessions, your choice.
